The dedication of a Church is not the only rite that is used for the initiation of a new place of Christian worship. At the beginning of the construction of a building, liturgical sources provide for the Rite of Foundation of a Church in which blessings are asked on both the workers and also on the future edifice. This paper gives a comparative analysis of prayers used in the rites of the Byzantine-Greek and Latin traditions. Artykuł podejmuje problematykę sztuki figuratywnej w teologicznej przestrzeni tradycji Kościołów syryjskich. Chociaż wspólnoty te w początkowym stadium rozwoju stanowiły integralną część Cesarstwa Wschodniorzymskiego, to jednak wypracowały zupełnie inny model obrazowania, którym nie są ikony czy też inne formy malarskie. Głównym sposobem malowania teologii było dla Syryjczyków słowo. The subject of this study is one of the central truths of liturgical theology, especially of the theology of the Word of God, which in some aspects were re-discovered by the Second Vatican Council. In the first part, the author addresses the ąuestion of presence of Christ in the Liturgy of the Word, where Hc Himself speaks and sanctifies. In the second part, our attention is focused on the presence of the Holy Spirit in the Liturgy of the Word. This study emphasises the cosmic dimensions of the Church understood as the Throne of God, analysing its understanding in this way by the great writers and thinkers of the ancient world, for example, Philo the Alexandrine, Saint Dionysius the Areopagite and Saint Irene of Lyon.
